The installation is made from bulrush flowers and appears suspended from the ceiling in the space. The many small flowers, arranged in bouquets, come together to look as if they are forming a giant version of themselves.
The sensitive composition carries various meanings. Through the fragile flower's wilting, we can contemplate the cyclicality of nature and the concepts of decay and rebirth. The installation captures an element of nature whose development unfolds before our eyes, while there are points in the cyclical change that remain hidden from humans. For example, how a seed grows roots underground. The visible milestones of the presented process highlight the beauty of change and elevate the viewer to a privileged position, allowing them to witness the magic.
However, nature encompasses more than just birth and joy, just as the bulrush does not solely contain these elements. Its fragility and transformation underscore the brevity and transience of life, thus representing mortality.
The experience is further enhanced for the viewer because, in the exhibition space, they encounter not just the image of the flower but the plant itself, affecting multiple senses at once.
