These paintings are journeys in search of a path, an attempt to grasp the shadows of the past.
The figures depicted are no longer alive, yet their movements and dynamics still exist in my memories. I tried to capture these moments in the paintings.
The series consists of six paintings, with two sets of three drawing inspiration from different eras. The first three depict my grandparents, of whom I have living memories, allowing them to appear much more dynamically. The second set of three portrays figures I only know through stories, or with whom I spent so little time that I don't have personal memories. However, their presence is such a defining part of my family’s past that I felt compelled to preserve them.
